With the post, Looking Back Move Forward, I started an untitled series on pivoting or managing transition. One of the things I led with in that post was that change is inevitable. We have to navigate is somehow. Thinking about the future used to scare me more in my younger years. I’ve learned to be more chilled with time. Speaking to another friend in transition made me think about why the future can seem intimidating.

Looking Forward To

“Looking forward to…” Words I haven’t said out loud in a while. A lot of what I’m looking forward to is in mindmaps, safe in a secret location. I’m back to using mindmaps as a thought clarifying process. They’re great for brainstorming and outlining processes. I like to pencil in details while having the entire picture in sight.

The killings at the Emanuel AME Church members in Charleston have stoked a furore of debates. America (and the world) is in debates about race and history. There’s also a raucous about the confederate flag.
