One of the things I’ve always tried to do better every year is reading more. This includes both books and blogs. I’m a big fan of blogs. I also love books. You are too tired when you are so tired you can’t rest. Rest is not only doing nothing but also doing something that replenishes. A recharge or boost is not necessary only when you’re tired. For all to do life well we need to be resting before we need to.
When I apply myself I expect to see a return for my effort. None of us want to do something for nothing. We want some sort of return. A reward of sort for energy used. Some gain for all the pain we might have gone through.
At different times, for different reasons the results will vary. Sometimes we will see a great return. Perhaps an exponential one. At other times we get what we expected. Then there are those times we seem to get less than what we hoped for. Even worse, we get nothing.
Could it be that we’ve sucked the life out our work because we don’t get leisure? This got me thinking not only about down time but how I approach my work.
You believe many things for different reasons. It could be that you’ve heard something many times. Another reason could be that you heard from someone you respect and trust. Your own thoughts are also a source of your beliefs. Having said that, here’s why you must never believe what you think:
